Children : Please do not do it at home.....

Case I

As usual, when I have nothing much to do on weekends, I started to repair some faulty or not up to standard electrical appliances.

So last Saturday was my hot shower turn. It has been dripping as though something was stucked somewhere it the piping. Just a few months back I had opened up the piping system and the hot shower itself.

It seems that the water supply actually carry lots of small miniature stones, which will get stuck in the piping system, and in the hot shower itself! So I have done the cleaning a few months back, including the one at my kitchen sink. All clogged up by the water supply, which led me thinking, what is happening to our water supplier?

This time around, I think I was over confident, as I have opened up the hot shower previously.

All went well, actually found out the problem. Eventhough, I only found the cause after dismantling the plumbing and the hot shower unit! Apparently, the gasket in the shower head was worn out. Changed the gasket, and the shower was back to normal. Ermm... First lesson, check for worn out components before doing major dismantling.

As I was about to put back the cover of the shower unit, I realised there was one pin, that I have forgotten to put back. NORMALLY, I would have switched off the main power supply, but as I was over confident and lazy, I thought to myself, it is just a small pin that I have to put back.

So I just slide back the pin..... For a fraction of a second, there was a sharp pain in my finger! Instantly I pulled back my hand. In that split seconds I realised, what a stupid action I have done.... RULE NO. 1 when opening any electrical appliance: There must be no power supply to it!

Such a small action, and yet, it could have been the end of my life....

Case II.

Any of you guys have gone to IKEA? Going out from IKEA going back to Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, you will have to drive to the highway. From IKEA there will be three lanes. Once you about to enter the highway, it will merge into one lane!! Anyone noticed that???

As I was happily driving to office this morning, going thru that stretch of road, I noticed a lorry from my rear driving very fast on my left. As I enter the bend that merge with the highway, on the left most lane of the highway, I can see a proton driving fast on my right!

I slammed the brake, luckily there was no car right behind me! The lorry passed by happily and turn into the highway. The proton passed by happily cutting right in front of me going to the left towards the entrance of the highway to TTDI, Bangsar and Federal Highway...... (Notice that I know where the highway was going, but do not know the name of the highway? Well thats me! I only know Federal Highway.).

Boths vehicle was right behind me on my left and right. Why la they can just let me passed? Stupid road. I wonder who designed that stretch of road? I wonder how many near miss accidents? I wonder how many accident has taken place there?

So, I drove happily this morning to work.... I am glad, I am still alive and in one piece. Thank you God.

Why?

A girl age 15 plunged down 13 floors......

No matter what was reported in the daily newspaper, I still do not understand why? A lot of questions raced thru my mind.

Are there similar cases in Malaysia?

What are the numbers?

Is the percentage alarming?

Anything being done?

Who we can turn to?

And many more questions.......

To all my friends in this cyber world, I pray and hope, if any of you(or someone you know), ever think of doing something in desperation, please take your time to email me at dade_ghost@yahoo.com . I am not promising anything, but I will definitely read and listen to your issues. If needed I may be able to give some suggestion to overcome your predicament.

There are no issues in this world that has no alternative solution, accept when death come knocking on our door.

Have a great life!

P/S: I pray that the 15 year old will recover fully and love life as it is.....

When was the last time?

As I sat on the prayer mat this morning, after solat subuh, I pondered. Yeah time flies....

I am not getting any younger. Life has been great to me. Of course there are minor hiccups, but overall, alhamdulillah.

I am grateful to live to this age. Grateful for all that Allah has bestowed upon me. Grateful to be able to see, hear and feel His wondrous world. As a human being, I do want more......

So when was the last time I thought about death? Just to share a secret with you all, I thought about death everyday. Thus I do really appreciate life.

I am sure most of you has been at the door of death itself, or knows someone that already died or dying. Ever try sitting or laying beside a dying person imagining it is you? Do try....

I am a coward by nature. So am I afraid of death? Of course I am. Who doesn't? There might be some out there who is not afraid of death, but they have good reasons, and yet when death stares you in the face, that is the time when you know your true self.

But not to worry. From my own experience, as we grow older like I am, time will train us to embrace death. Somehow, we will come to term with death. It is something that all of us must go thru.

As for me, I pray Allah spare me a long agony death when my time comes. Make it swift and quick. InsyAllah.

The reason I am writing all these? Just to remind myself, death does not wait for anyone. Maybe, I can learn together with you all on your perspective about death?

Visiting The Hospital Is Becoming The Routine.

Yesterday went to the hospital to visit an uncle who is in the ICU due to the colon cancer. He had a major operation on Wednesday to take out one foot of his big stomach. So I figure yesterday was a good day to visit, so that he can rest and recuperate.

On the way it reminds me of my auntie who had the same operation about two months ago. Actually she was supposedly to undergo the operation much earlier, but it has to be postponed as the doctors found out that her heart has some blockage. Three arteries if I am not mistaken.

So they had to send her to IJN and have her heart repaired. Then when she had recovered, they had the surgery to remove her colon cancer. I did not asked to what extent her intestine or stomach was taken out. I do not know, but hearing those stories makes my guts turns upside down. (Hehehe... I wanted to be a hired killer at one time. Funny to think that a hired killer can be effected adversely by the sight of blood or something gory! I guess that is why I never pursue that career.)

Thank Allah almighty, she is well now, and actually left the hospital three days after the surgery. So I was comparing the situation. My auntie, went to a government hospital, and she left after three days. My uncle went to a private hospital, and he is still in ICU! Erm... all those double standard ideas rushed to my head.

So, when I reached the hospital where my uncle is, I went straight to the ICU and looked for him. There he was, just like the sight that I imagine would be. Groaning in pain..... I hate ICUs. In one corner I saw a new born baby, I can see he/she breaths with the help of a respiratory machine. I can see the heart beating fast.......

Back to my uncle. His heart was actually beating at an average of 130 per minute. Apparently the day before it was averaging at 145 per minute. At this rate, his heart will fail him. They have to operate him fast as his cancer was at a late stage, thus they did not do anything for the heart. It seems as we get older our heart has more issues.

My assumption that government hospital send back their patient early is not true. I apologise to all the people that I unintentially condemn. And my assumption that private hospital holds back their patients as long as possible to make more money is also not true. I also apologise. I salute and thank you all, may Allah show your cause to be just and be of great service to all mankind. (Of course they are black sheeps in any community.)

It has become a norm for me lately to go to the hospital to see the old folks sick or dying. The feeling is something that I cannot describe. How do you tell an uncle, he is dying. All you can do is whisper, that we will pray for the best from Allah.

Take care of our body now, and maybe we will not have to go thru all those sufferings. I pray to Allah that we all shall be spared for any sufferings for all the sins we have done. Ameen.
