A trip to Tanjung Piai.
I just got back from Tanjung Piai, Johor. It is somewhere near Kukup. Nothing much, but I was bored during the Raya so I just decided to go there.
I am still too tired from the journey. I hope to post up some picture or maybe some short video I took. Well let see if I can upload those picture on my notebook.
Should be getting back to work. Again see how. I might skip another day. It is getting too edgy on work front. The Raya break gave me some idea on what to do, if I really have to leave the current job.
I pray that you all have a safe and pleasant journey back to your home, from wherever you were from. To those that are already at work, we that are still on holiday are very thankful. Next year we hope to exchange places with you all (tough luck! hehehe).

Cool ba.... relax ba....
From Labuan we adjourn to Kota Kinabalu for our next meeting. As there was time to kill, we went to Filipino market. It was still the same..... and the price is higher. So we decided to find our friend. A Director in one of The Prime Minister Department in KK.
First thing he told us (he is a Sabahan) as we entered his new office, of which the furniture is not complete after more than 2 months of that department moving into their new premise. And still waiting for their departmental car. He told us, "here in KK, we have to be, cool ba and relax ba". Nothing seems to be an urgency.
So taking note on what he said, I began to look around. I was expecting the order in the stall we had for dinner will be late, but it turns out faster than normal if we compared to KL. However, food is a little bit expensive in KK, or maybe Sabah itself?
Getting back to my experience in Labuan, remember I promised to tell about the "sayap" story? Well actually nothing much, but it set me wondering and thinking, how easily a misunderstanding in communication can happen.
I was ordering dinner in Labuan. It is not for the first time, as we had dinner at the same place the previous night. This time I asked for "kepak ayam". If you go to Labuan, you will notice that most stalls and restaurants will have barbecued chicken wings on its menu.
I asked, "Kepak ayam ada?"
Waitress with blur face, "Ayam?"
I answered "Ya kepak ayam"
Waitress, "Tak tau ba?"
Me, "Saya mahu kepak ayam sebaris"
Waitress, "tidak ada ba.."
Then I pointed to the barbecued chicken wings on the grill.
Waitress laughed, "Itu sayap ayam ba!"
Me, "oh, ok saya mahu sayap ayam sebaris..."
Such a simple thing and miscommunication can happened.... I realised, most of us knows "Kepak" and "sayap" is the same... but again, I maybe wrong... maybe my bahasa is bad?
Getting back to "cool ba... relax ba". Went to the airport early at 5 am, to catch the flight at 6 am. That was for when I remembered my friend saying "cool ba... relax ba". Eventhough, I was trying my luck to be in the waiting list.... the flight was canceled! It was a MAS flight. Apparently, the plane did not arrive.... I wonder?
So I sat there watching the chaos. And true enough, all of them were "cool ba... relax ba..." attitude prevailed. The next flight was scheduled to fly at 7 20 am. On the dot, there are still people checking in.... at 7 45 am... on the departure monitor, it was flashing "last call" for that flight.....
As we were on the waiting list, I got lots of time to kill. We were seated in front of the ladies rest room... I am not a pervert ok! It is just happen that the waiting list counter is near the ladies!
Then suddenly, I saw a man coming out of the ladies..... ermm this man must have not known to read, or something..... What amazed me was, soon after, not less than 7 men went into the ladies.... even when ladies were in! At one time, there was a policewomen using the toilet! To be honest, only one of those men were actually ticked off by one of the MAB staff.... but even after that more of his colleagues were using the same ladies.....
I wondered why? I do not have the answer.... but I saw them lining up checking into a Kudat flight. The men do not even bother, when we all gave a weird look at them. I guess they are use to sharing toilets with their women....
That should be my update for today. I am still on the waiting list to KL. I have to be "cool ba.... relax ba" mode.....

I am in Labuan!
Do you know that all hotel in Labuan has been full for the last three months??? I did not know....
So, on the last minute notice to go down to Labuan, we had the flight ticket but no place to stay.
Luckily, managed to get a room in a two star hotel.
Will update further when I get back. Maybe will write about "sayap".

The Short Break
It was planned as 3 days 2 nights getaway. At the last minute, it was changed to a 2 days 1 night affair.
I am disappointed, but that is work. We just follow order. So up to the bosses to change schedules at their wimps and fancy…..
Drove down to Awana Kijal. I have always loved traveling, especially on my own. So the 3 ½ hours drive from
From Kuantan to Kijal is still the state road, traveling thru the villages. I do not usually drive fast, but this time, I just drove fast even when I went thru Chukai. There are some changes to the road and route. Signboards were not sufficient. At least once I missed a junction.
My first time to Awana Kijal. Yes it is as beautiful and nice as everyone has said it would be. There is something for everyone.
Will I go there again?…… well maybe…. Somehow I compare it to

Going out off town next week.
I was hoping to go to Labuan last month or this month, but looks like it will not happen so fast afterall. Now that I am confirmed to go to Trengganu next week, I am a little bit happy. I am tired of this working like a dog scenerio.
(Would love to go Phuket or Bandung, but just could not afford it yet! And it is sad, I have never been to those places..... )
So even going to Trengganu sounds fun. Will be driving there. So I will have lots of time to myself, alone. My mind can wanders off to another dream land. I really need the break from all these madness.
It is supposedly a working trip, but I already made arrangement with our Chairperson Dato, to have the meeting at nights, and leaves the day open to our own activities.
The Dato love to golf, but I do not really enjoy it. The Dato has been pestering me to play golf, but even betting at RM10 a hole, I am bound to loose RM 180 a flight. Two flights a day.... man that is RM 360! A small amount for the Dato, but will surely burn my pocket!
Maybe I just relax by the beach. Enjoy the sunset. Watch the fishermen and fishes. Yeah maybe take some pics......

P/S: To all the secretaries, have a wonderful secretary week!

Where to?
This first picture was a village by the sea on stilts. An it is famous due to one of its resident participating in Akademia Fantasia. Sorry I am lousy with names....... I cant remember her name.....
Overall, the village can be upgraded further for tourist destination. I dont know why, Malaysia seems to have lots of places for tourist destination, but lacking of tourism facilities ......
such a waste....
In February, I most probably will be in Labuan again. It is work related. Yes more papers to prepare, and this time The Boss wants some facts and figures.
Should be going to Penang too in February. A friends wedding. I was really impress by the invitation card. Pictures and a brief description of their romance......
Where else should I go this year? Maybe to Umrah in April or May?
