Ikan Bakar - Jalan Bellamy

Was bored, so I decided to have lunch at the infamous ikan bakar stalls in Jalan Bellamy, behind the Agung's palace. Surprisingly, there were a lot of patrons. All three stalls were packed with people.

There were four of us. We took 3 cuttlefish, 1 cat fish and 3 pieces of stingray. Ice lemon tea seems to be the drink for everyone. Cost us RM 74.00. This is my personal observation.

Ambience : Very uncomfortable, especially on a hot day.

Service : Good. Orders taken and delivered fast.

Price : By Metropolitan standard, average. Compared to the seafood restaurant in Klang Ports area, about 40 km away, it is a little bit high.

Food : Average taste compared to other outlets with similar menu in Malaysia. In Kuala Lumpur area, it is on the top ten list.

Presentation: Very simple.

Overall : To past boredom or for a quick lunch, it is a good place to eat, provided you dont mind the heat. But if you are a serious sea food lover, go to the Klang ports area (Port Klang, North Port and West Port) for dinner, and it is a little bit cheaper, more varieties and fresh.

Yeah this post is out off my boredom. So what do you expect me to do???

Hey ya,
have tried the ikan bakar in jln Bellamy a couple of times and my verdict would be just average. You are right, it can be very uncomfortable when the weather is hot and humid, even the BIG fans they have do not serve any purpose at all.

As for the seafood in Port Klang, I have tried the one called Muara, oh gosh, bad experience. I was there during the rainy season and the water was ankle deep, all the customers had to walk in the water to get to the other plank for tables. I chickened out at the very last minute when I saw fat rats swimming in it..eewww!

Anyways, have a good weekend ahead :)

dade,

I have heard of these great seafood eating places but I have no idea how to get there.

I fly to KL every now & then, but never really ventured anywhere outside the city area.

BT, the one in this post, it opens only in the day. The Ports is Klang usually only at night. The one in Melaka too.

For first time visitors, maybe I can arrange someone to bring u too the Ports in Klang. The one at Jalan Bellamy.. any cab driver in KL should know. If u still have problem, it is my pleasure to escort u there... The one in Melaka... ermm... too far...

Anyhow, I will try to get the maps for u the least....
